Running Drunk in France’s Marathon du Medoc

WOE Media

Will you rather go exhausted from running a marathon or go wasted from drinking glasses of good wine? Better forget choosing one and choose both, and go all the way to the town of Pauillac in the Médoc area of Bordeaux, France for the Marathon du Medoc. Be sure to be updated with the year’s theme to know what costume you should be wearing in this fun marathon. Conservative or revealing it’s all up to you, everyone’s getting drunk anyway!

The Marathon du Medoc is an annual race done through the wine vineyards and chateaux that serves as wine stops for racers to try out their wine. Other than wine, there’s also food available like cheese, escargot, foie gras, oysters, steak and more that’ll complete the wine experience, complemented with live music to set everyone’s “spirits” up.

But don’t forget that this is a marathon so don’t get too slow or else you’ll be caught by the time enforcers and bring you back to the starting point. The race is only meant to be 6 hours and 30 minutes long but it could extend depending on the weather conditions.

At the end, if you’ve successfully crossed the finish line, you’ll get a finisher’s bag that has the perfect prize inside after that long run – a bottle of wine.
