Japan’s Stunning Winter Light Tunnels
Be dazzled by the millions of fairy lights embracing you as you walk through the sparkling tunnels of Nabana no Sato, the most spectacular of all light shows in Japan which premiers every holiday season.
Winter Illuminations is a stunning light show that covers the whole Nabana no Sato Botanical Garden in the wintry months. Each year takes on a different theme. For last year, the park was adorned with extravagant large-scale displays depicting Mt. Fuji during sunrise, a brilliant rainbow, and a magnificent aurora to exemplify the overall concept “nature”.
But the main attraction is always the dream-like light tunnel which makes visitors feel like they’re passing through a magical portal to the unknown. One visitor from last year’s light show Joanna Tocher of Wide Island View recounts, “If you can shut out the noise of the hundreds of people around you it really does feel like you’re stepping into another world.”
